Even the heavy rain all over the track didn’t stop the race at La Leonera WQS. The last event of the IDF South American Championship had wet finals for all the classes but a fair competition between the riders gave a great competition till the last run.

Get a chiva and win the heat

La Leonera DH 2017 open his track this morning and we had the chance to do the last registrations at the top of the race track. The arrival of the riders with the “chiva” and the music all around gave a warm start despite the cloudy sky; we planned to have 2 warmup but once ready for the qualifications heats the rain starts to fall and everybody had a third practice on the wet.

The race was tight and fair down the APAC mountain and the show hasn’t failed to come along the day. Drafting became an important key of the strategy in the top section and keeping your mind focused in the last turns was one of the critical point to take care if if you did not want to blow your run.

Brazilian armada strikes the time trials

The open class got dominated once again by the Brazilian armada: the 2016 World Champion Carlos Paixao had the second best quali times and a focused Thiago Lessa over took his compatriot with a time of 1:40:630 finishing in first position. Douglas Dalua it's not away from the game and took in his pocket a solid third place followed by Wiliam Rubin.
